About Texas Longhorns Mens Basketball

The Texas Longhorns men's basketball team represents the University of Texas at Austin in NCAA Division I competition. Texas joined the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in 2024 after decades in the Big 12. The Longhorns have a respected basketball tradition, making 39 NCAA Tournament appearances, including three Final Four trips in 1943, 1947, and 2003, and producing several NBA players. Known for balanced offense and strong coaching leadership, the program was guided for many years by Rick Barnes. The current head coach, Sean Miller, was hired in March 2025. The team plays home games at Moody Center, a 15,000-seat arena on campus. Texas remains competitive in the SEC and continues to be a nationally recognized program.
