After his family immigrated to the United States in the early 2000s for his father to pursue a career in animation, Eyedress saw his family’s living standards improve dramatically, but he was still drawn to the hard edges of society that he had encountered in his childhood, which began to manifest in his music when he started recording tracks on his laptop in his early 20s. He then returned to Manila to work with a studio there  (releasing his first album, hilariously titled Manila Ice) in 2017. Subsequent recordings after he returned to the United States led to a breakthrough stateside for Eyedress and he has never looked back since, continuing to perform, tour, and record.
