Health is a noise rock/industrial band from Los Angeles, California. They started out on the underground scene and gained fame when they released a remix of Crystal Castles’ song, “Crimewave,” followed by a self-titled album in 2007. They released five other albums and a collaborative double album. They also put their sound into video games like Grant Theft Auto V, Max Payne 3, and others. Two of the band’s members met when they were working at the flagship Guitar Center, located in Los Angeles. They decided to form a band and enlisted other members. The group aimed to choose a name that was an everyday word. After going through extensive lists of terms, “health” was one that wasn’t already in use. While the band has been classified as noise rock, they also describe their music as electronic, experimental, industrial, and electro-rock.
