About World of Outlaws

The World of Outlaws is America's premier dirt track racing sanctioning body, founded in 1978 by Ted Johnson to bring the world's best sprint car drivers together on a national stage. Known as "The Greatest Show on Dirt," the organization operates two marquee touring series: the NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series and the Late Model Series, which together race at more than 140 events annually across 23 states in the United States and Canada. The 900-horsepower winged sprint cars, running on methanol and reaching speeds exceeding 140 mph, are among the most powerful racing machines on dirt. Crown jewel events include the Knoxville Nationals and the World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte. The series is now owned and operated by World Racing Group, based in Concord, North Carolina.
