About Senior PGA Championship

The Senior PGA Championship is the oldest major championship in professional senior golf, established in 1937 and administered by the PGA of America. Open to male golfers aged 50 and older, the tournament is contested over 72 holes in stroke play format and is recognized as a major championship on both the PGA Tour Champions and European Senior Tour schedules. The inaugural event was held at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, with Scottish-born Jock Hutchison claiming the first title. The winner receives the Alfred S. Bourne Trophy, named after the Augusta National vice-president who funded the original trophy. Among its most decorated champions is Sam Snead, who won the title six times, and Bernhard Langer, the only player to have won all five current senior major championships.
