David Benavidez (born December 17, 1996, in Phoenix, Arizona) is an American professional boxer nicknamed "El Bandera Roja" and "The Monster." Born to a Mexican father and Ecuadorian mother and trained by his father Jose Benavidez Sr., he turned professional at age 16 in 2013. In 2017, at just 20 years old, he became the WBC super middleweight champion, making him the youngest super middleweight world champion in history. He has since become a two-division champion, holding both the WBC and WBA light heavyweight titles as of 2025. Undefeated in his professional career with a record of 31 wins and 25 knockouts, Benavidez is widely regarded as one of boxing's most dominant and exciting fighters.
