About Life of Pi - Musical

Life of Pi is a stage play adapted by Lolita Chakrabarti from Yann Martel's beloved 2001 novel of the same name, directed by Max Webster. The production tells the story of Pi, a sixteen-year-old boy who survives a shipwreck in the Pacific Ocean and finds himself stranded on a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. The show is celebrated for its breathtaking puppetry, immersive visuals, and innovative stagecraft. It world premiered at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield in 2019, transferred to London's West End in 2021, and opened on Broadway at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on March 30, 2023, starring Hiran Abeysekera in an Olivier Award-winning performance. The production won three Tony Awards and the Olivier Award for Best Play, and a North American national tour continues to travel widely.
