Good Night, and Good Luck is a historical drama play written by George Clooney and Grant Heslov, adapted from their critically acclaimed 2005 film of the same name. Directed by Tony Award winner David Cromer, the play had its Broadway premiere at the Winter Garden Theatre on April 3, 2025, with previews beginning March 12. Marking Clooney's Broadway debut, the production stars him as legendary CBS journalist Edward R. Murrow, depicting his historic on-air confrontation with Senator Joseph McCarthy during the Red Scare of the 1950s. The limited engagement ran through June 8, 2025, earned five Tony Award nominations including Best Actor for Clooney, and was broadcast live on CNN — the first Broadway production ever to air live on television. The production was later made available on Netflix.
