LA LOM, also known as the Los Angeles League of Musicians, is an instrumental band hailing from Los Angeles, California. The trio started playing at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, experimenting with surf guitar, cumbia, Peruvian chicha, and other distinct sounds. They are known for fusing many different styles together. The Los Angeles natives Jake Faulkner and Zac Sokolow met as teens and started performing in the hotel lobby together in 2018. At first, they covered pop and soul songs. Nicholas Baker, another friend, and area native, joined later and introduced congos, which gave them a faster tempo and Latin inspiration.
