The Head and The Heart is a folk band that formed in 2009 and has released five albums, the last of which came out in 2022. The members met and formed through open mic nights in Seattle. Their name was chosen because they felt their heads telling them to find stable jobs, but their heart was with the band. The group created self-burned versions of their first album and placed them in handmade denim sleeves to sell at their shows. Soon after, local record stores couldn’t keep enough in stock. That frenzy grabbed record label attention and the band got signed. The album was remastered and released as a studio version in 2011. The Head and The Heart started touring and made their TV debut on Conan in 2011. Several of their songs have been used on TV shows, such as How I Met Your Mother, New Girl, Sons of Anarchy, and more.
