Atlanta Falcons

It is hard to believe that the Atlanta Falcons have still never won a Super Bowl with all the amazing players they have had over the years, none more than multi-sport athlete Deion Sanders, the only man ever to play in both a World Series and a Super Bowl! In fact, Sanders remains so popular that you will still see Deion Sanders Atlanta Falcons jerseys around Mercedes-Benz Stadium even though he retired over two decades ago. NFL games at Mercedes-Benz Stadium are quite the event, with plenty of tailgating in the buildup and fans dressed up in the team colors of black, red, and silver. If you’re keen to blend in, head to the team shop and grab yourself some Atlanta Falcons swag (maybe a hat or a jersey or even a helmet!). Whatever you wear, an Atlanta Falcons NFL game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium is sure to be an experience that you and your friends will never forget (and the team needs all the support it can get, having missed the playoffs for the past 6 seasons in a row). Get onto TicketX and buy your Atlanta Falcons tickets today!

Rival Teams

Nothing gets NFL football fans all revved up like watching their team square off against one of their biggest rivals. Here are two of the Atlanta Falcons’ most significant rivalries.

Atlanta Falcons vs New Orleans Saints

The long rivalry between Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints dates back to the 1960s, when the pair were the only two NFL representatives from America’s south coast. For decades, the rivalry was essentially a battle of the basement dwellers, with neither the Saints or Falcons being very good and thus needing to be content with beating one another. Incredibly, they have done so exactly 55 times apiece (55-55 all time) heading into 2024-25. The Saints and Falcons will both be hoping to get an edge in this all-time series in their two upcoming late season clashes this season: on September 30 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta and November 11 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

Atlanta Falcons vs Carolina Panthers

A rivalry between the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers was all but inevitable when the Panthers joined the NFL in 1995. Charlotte and Atlanta are just 230 miles apart and linked by the I-85 highway (their clashes are thus known as the I-85 Rivalry), meaning that fans often travel between the cities to watch their team home and away. Several intensely physical encounters in the teams’ first few meetings set the tone for a heated rivalry that continues to this day. Atlanta leads the all time series 36-22. The teams will meet twice in the upcoming season: on October 14 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, and on January 5, 2025 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

When does the NFL Preseason start for the Atlanta Falcons?

The Atlanta Falcons preseason kicks off on the road on August 9 against the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami and on August 17 against the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. ****The Falcons then return home to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta to face the Jacksonville Jaguars on August 23 to round out their preseason.

Why should you buy tickets to Atlanta Falcons preseason games?

While preseason games do not count towards point tallies in the NFL regular season, don’t completely write them off! Not only are tickets to preseason games much cheaper, but they also allow you a sneak peek at exciting up and coming new players who might bolster the lineup of the Atlanta Falcons in the upcoming season. With cheaper prices from TicketX, premium seats are also much more affordable for unbeatable up close views of all your favorite Atlanta Falcons players.

2024-25 NFL Season Predictions

Which Teams Will Go To the 2024-25 NFL Playoffs?

There will be 14 teams that qualify for the Postseason—seven from the AFC and seven from the NFC—and despite an influx of new and talented QBs drafted by teams in the 2024 NFL Draft, expect at least 11 of the same teams in the NFL Playoffs as last season.

So, who are the four that might not make it this time and who didn’t make the Playoffs last year but might in the 2024-25 season? The Buccaneers, Browns, and Steelers may find it harder this time around, with the Falcons, Bengals, and Jets possibly making the Wild Card round.

Last season, the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers met in the NFC Championship Game, and the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs collided in the AFC Championship Game, with the 49ers meeting the Chiefs in the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

Expect those four heavyweights, along with the Packers, Eagles, Cowboys, and Rams in the NFC and the Texans and Bills in the AFC, to make it back to the NFL Playoffs next season.

Which Two Teams Will Go To Super Bowl LIX and Why?

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will be seeking their third straight Super Bowl win. With genius Head Coach Andy Reid, TE Travis Kelce, and a much-improved defense, they are the best team in the AFC and have lofty expectations. The Lions had the Niners on the ropes last year and have steadily improved the last two seasons. They are eyeballing a shot at the Super Bowl and have the skill position players and chip on their shoulders.

So Jared Goff and Detroit (12/1 to win the Super Bowl, DraftKings) could meet the best player in the NFL—Mahomes—and his Chiefs (+550) in Super Bowl LIX at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

2024-25 NFL Super Bowl LIX Prediction: Chiefs 33 Lions 24

Trade Rumors and Draft Picks

With six straight seasons on the outside looking in when it comes to playoff time (including three straight 7-10 seasons recently!), the Atlanta Falcons will be desperate to do something to give their squad a fighting chance by looking to free agents, new talent from the draft, and trades with other teams. In the 2024 NFL Draft, the Falcons selected quarterback Michael Penix Jr.  in the first round, and will be hoping that he can push current quarterback Kirk Cousins to improve (or take his spot). For depth and experience, the Falcons may turn to the trade or free agency, with rumored trade targets including Khalil Mack (OLB) of the Los Angeles Chargers, Budda Baker (S) of the Arizona Cardinals, and Noah Brown (WR) of the Houston Texans.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium

The futuristic Mercedes-Benz Stadium opened its doors in 2017 as the new home of the Atlanta Falcons as well as Atlanta United FC of MLS. The stadium is fitted with a unique retractable roof of eight transparent panels that separate when the roof is opened, forming a pattern that resembles the extended wings of a falcon. Much of the venue has been built using transparent materials such as glass and clear polymers to provide fans with expansive views across the city from inside the stadium. Along with all regular season and playoff Falcons and Atlanta United home games, Mercedes-Benz Stadium hosts top high school and NCAA college football games, concerts, and international soccer matches. The venue is also scheduled to host matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Hungry? Mercedes-Benz Stadium has plenty of tempting snacks, with everything from cheesesteaks to chicken and waffles to barbecued pulled pork sandwiches (as well as great beer at just $5!). Food is also much more affordably priced than many other professional sports venues.

How to get to Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Your best public transportation option to get to Mercedes-Benz Stadium is the MARTA rail system. Get off at either GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Center station or Five Points station and walk to the stadium. Some MARTA train stations further afield also provide park-and-ride facilities, which is a good way to avoid stadium traffic. Taking a taxi or driving your own vehicle to Mercedes-Benz Stadium is relatively straightforward, but be prepared for Atlanta’s traffic, which gets even worse during big games or events. Parking is available near Mercedes-Benz Stadium, but it is highly advised to reserve a spot in advance ($6-50). Visit Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s official website for maps, driving direction, and full parking information.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium Bag Policy

The Mercedes-Benz Stadium bag policy encourages fans to leave all bags at home if possible. If necessary, visitors can bring in one clear plastic bag (maximum size: 12" x 6" x 12") that cannot be tinted with any color. Guests may also carry a small clutch or purse (maximum size: 4.5" x 6.5") that need not be clear. Diapers and medical necessities are permitted (in clear plastic bags).

Mercedes-Benz Stadium Rules

Mercedes-Benz Stadium has an extensive list of rules meant to ensure a safe and fun day for all at the venue. Most of them are common sense, but a few of the most important rules to remember are:

  • Alcohol Policy - guests must be able to produce valid photo ID to prove they are 21 years of age or older when purchasing alcohol. Alcohol may not be brought into the stadium. Two beverages per transaction limit per customer.

  • Animals - only registered service animals may be brought into the stadium. Therapy dogs and similar animal companions are not considered service animals and thus not permitted entry. Animals are also not permitted in the tailgating areas on game days.

  • Cashless Payments - Mercedes-Benz Stadium is a cashless-only facility, accepting only card or mobile payments. Guests with cash can convert this to a card at one of the ReadySTATION kiosks inside the stadium.

  • Prohibited Items - no umbrellas, laser pointers, fireworks, weapons, tripods/selfie sticks/long lenses, thermoses, or noisemakers. For a full list, refer to the A-Z guide page.

Visit the stadium’s A-Z guide page for a full list of rules at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
