Role Model, born Tucker Harrington Pillsbury, is a singer/songwriter who used to be a rapper. He self-released his debut extended play in 2017 and got the attention of a record label as well as an online following. He then released a pair of EPs followed by his debut studio album and his sophomore album came out in 2024. Role Model was born in Maine to a real estate appraising father and a special education teacher mother. He was inspired by Elvis Presley and even used to dress as him and perform for his family. He went to Point Park University to major in film but broke his wrist (twice!) which led him to record mixtapes when he was stuck in his room. He began his career as Tucker and rapped, but in 2017, he changed to Role Model and began singing instead. He often plays acoustic guitar with his songs and critics say his music is relatable and confessional.
