Megan Trainor

Since her early childhood, music has always been an interest for Meghan Trainor. Her journey as a musician was steered by her family's encouragement to explore all her musical talents. From playing musical instruments to songwriting to recording and producing songs, Meghan’s path in music was set in stone. In 2013, as a high school graduate, Meghan turned her back on a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music. Although she had been a student in the school’s summer program in 2009 and 2010, Meghan chose to fully follow the path of music.

Meghan Trainor started her career in music by working primarily as a songwriter for other artists. As a songwriter, Meghan has written songs for notable artists such as Sabrina Carpenter, Jennifer Lopez, Little Mix, among others. She also recorded demos for the songs she wrote. Despite the fact that Meghan releases her own music as a solo artist, she still offers her songwriting skills to other artists.

Megan Trainor’s Discography

Meghan Trainor’s career as a solo artist started when she met producer Kevin Kadish in June 2013. The two shared a similar musical style, drawing inspiration from retro music. On June 30 of the next year, she released her debut single, All About That Bass. She had written the song, together with Kadish, a few months before playing it for a record label executive. This led to her signing to Epic Records. All About That Bass was a smash hit, it lasted for eight consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Between 2014-2016, Meghan Trainor’s sound dominated the music scene. Particularly, her singles became earworms during this music era. As a musician, Meghan keeps a consistent music release schedule; however, after the release of her second studio album, she took a four-year hiatus.  All together, Meghan has released six studio albums, releasing four albums in a span of four years after her comeback. As a part of these albums, some of her popular singles include Lips Are Movin, Dear Future Husband, Like I’m Gonna Lose You, No, Me Too, I’m A Lady, Made You Look, and Mother.

In her decade-long career, Meghan has secured impressive collaborations. She has been featured on Charlie Puth’s Marvin Gaye and Hands On Me by Jason Derulo among others. She has also initiated collaborations with artists such as Yo Gotti on Better, Sigala, Ella Eyre, French Montana on Just Got Paid, CNCO and Sean Paul on Hey DJ, and Nicki Minaj on Nice To Meet Ya. Since her official debut in 2014, Meghan Trainor has gathered 67 nominations and won 15 of them. In 2016, she won the Chart Topper Award at the year’s Billboard Women in Music event. She also won Best New Artist at the 2016 Grammys Award. Notably, Meghan has also stacked numerous appearances and performances on television and film.
