About Bristol City FC

Bristol City FC is a professional football club based in Bristol, England. Founded in 1894, the club is commonly known as "The Robins" due to its traditional red and white kit. Bristol City plays its home matches at Ashton Gate Stadium, a historic venue dating back to 1887 that was significantly redeveloped in 2016 and has been the club's home since 1904. The club's greatest league achievement came in the 1906–07 season when it finished as runners-up in the First Division, the highest level of English football at the time. Bristol City also reached the FA Cup final in 1909. Throughout its history, the club has spent most of its time in the second tier of English football. Bristol City has a strong regional following in the South West and shares a fierce rivalry with Bristol Rovers, known as the Bristol Derby. The club continues to compete in the EFL Championship while aiming for promotion to the Premier League.
