About Butcher Babies

Butcher Babies is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles, California in 2010 by dual vocalists Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey. Taking their name from the Plasmatics song "Butcher Baby" and heavily influenced by Wendy O. Williams' fearless stage persona, the band quickly made an impact in the California metal scene with their aggressive sound and explosive live performances. After signing a worldwide deal with Century Media Records in 2012, the band released their debut album Goliath in 2013, which charted at number three on the Billboard Heatseeker chart. They went on to release Take It Like a Man (2015) and Lilith (2017), touring alongside major acts including Marilyn Manson and Megadeth. In 2024, Harvey departed the band, leaving Shepherd as the sole frontwoman.
