Pan American Center, situated on New Mexico State University's campus in Las Cruces, New Mexico, is a versatile arena that seats 12,515 people. It's the home for the university's men's and women's basketball teams and the women's volleyball team. Throughout its history, it has hosted significant sporting events, including NCAA basketball tournament games and the Western Athletic Conference basketball and volleyball tournaments. Originally necessitated by the growth of the school and its athletic programs, the Pan American Center was constructed for $3.5 million and inaugurated in 1968. It quickly established a reputation as a challenging venue for visiting teams, thanks in part to its parquet playing floor and energetic crowds. The arena has witnessed considerable success and memorable games, contributing to its legacy as a formidable home advantage for NMSU's teams. Significant renovations in 2006–07 and again in 2022 have updated the facility with modern amenities, including new locker rooms, practice courts, and premium seating options, ensuring its status as a premier venue for sports and entertainment in Western New Mexico.
