About Penn State Nittany Lions Softball

The Penn State Nittany Lions softball program represents Pennsylvania State University in NCAA Division I as a member of the Big Ten Conference, playing home games at Beard Field at Nittany Lion Softball Park in University Park. Dating back to 1965, the program has made 13 NCAA Tournament appearances and eight postseason tournament wins across its history. Under head coach Clarisa Crowell, who took over in 2020, Penn State has experienced a remarkable resurgence, including a 25-win single-season improvement in 2022 that was the largest turnaround in Division I that year, a return to the NCAA Tournament in 2024 for the first time since 2011, and a historic offensive 2025 season that shattered program records in home runs, RBI, runs scored, and batting average.
