About Northwestern Wildcats Softball

The Northwestern Wildcats softball program represents Northwestern University in NCAA Division I as a member of the Big Ten Conference, playing home games at Sharon J. Drysdale Field in Evanston, Illinois. Founded in 1976, the program has been led by head coach Kate Drohan since 2002, making her the longest-tenured coach in program history. Under Drohan, Northwestern became the first private school in NCAA history to reach the Women's College World Series semifinals in consecutive years, accomplishing the feat in 2006 and 2007. The Wildcats have won multiple Big Ten championships, including three consecutive regular season titles from 2022 to 2024, and have made seven consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances entering 2026.
