About SEC Softball Tournament

The SEC Softball Tournament is the annual postseason championship for women's softball teams in the Southeastern Conference, established in 1997 when the SEC began sponsoring the sport. The inaugural tournament was held at South Commons Stadium in Columbus, Georgia, with South Carolina defeating Florida to claim the first title. The tournament expanded over the years and moved to on-campus sites in 2004, growing to include all 15 conference members. Florida and Alabama are among the most successful programs in tournament history. The tournament winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Softball Championship, making it one of the most coveted titles in college softball given the SEC's extraordinary depth and consistent national dominance.
