About Alabama Crimson Tide Softball

The Alabama Crimson Tide softball program represents the University of Alabama in NCAA Division I as a member of the Southeastern Conference, playing home games at Rhoads Stadium in Tuscaloosa. Founded in 1997, the program quickly established itself as a national powerhouse under longtime head coach Patrick Murphy, who took over in 1999 and became the first softball coach in history to reach 500 SEC wins. The Crimson Tide won their first national championship in 2012, defeating Oklahoma in the Women's College World Series. The program has made 19 Super Regional appearances and has consistently been among college softball's elite programs, producing numerous All-Americans and Olympic athletes throughout its nearly three decade history.
