The expansive 1.27 square kilometer site is renowned for its four-day Melbourne Cup event, featuring the world's richest handicap race. Flemington's pear-shaped design encompasses a lengthy home straight of 450 meters and a unique straight chute for shorter distances. While once hosting jumps racing, only Sandown now offers this.
