Caribou, real name Danial Victor Snaith, is a recording artist, composer, and musician from Canada. Snaith also performs under the stage names Manitoba and Daphni in addition to Caribou. He has released 11 albums since he started in the industry in 2000. His Caribou album Andorra won the Polaris Music Prize in 2008, and in 2010, his next album was nominated for the same category and called Best Album of 2010 by Resident Advisor. When he performs under the Caribou stage name, he brings bandmates who expand on his original material to create a live environment for fans. The band has toured worldwide, including performing at festivals. His moniker Daphni came about when he wanted to release music with more dancefloor sounds. Caribou’s 2015 album Our Love was nominated for a Grammy for Best Electronic/Dance Album, and his 2021 song “You Can Do It” for Best Dance Recording.
