About Exile

Exile is an American country and soft rock band originally formed in Richmond, Kentucky in 1963 as "The Exiles." They first found mainstream success with "Kiss You All Over" (1978), which spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. After transitioning to country music in the early 1980s, Exile became a major force on the country charts, scoring ten No. 1 singles including "Woke Up in Love," "Give Me One More Chance," and "I Don't Want to Be a Memory." Their blend of heartfelt lyrics, strong harmonies, and polished instrumentation appealed to both traditional and contemporary country audiences. The band disbanded in 1994 but reunited in 2008 with their classic lineup. In 2013, they were inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, cementing their legacy as a group that successfully bridged pop, rock, and country music.
