Wicomico Civic Center, situated in Salisbury, Maryland, is a multi-purpose arena known for its versatility and comprehensive facilities. It offers significant space, with the main arena covering 30,000 square feet and a secondary arena providing an additional 10,000 square feet. The main arena is capable of accommodating a wide range of events, with seating options for 2,500 guests for banquets, up to 3,000 for theater concerts and stage shows, and between 5,000 to 6,000 for concerts and similar large-scale events. The facility boasts a high ceiling of 42 feet, enhancing its suitability for various events. Since its opening in 1980, which replaced an auditorium that had been in use since 1950 and was destroyed by fire in 1977, the Civic Center has undergone several renovations between 2007 and 2017 to maintain and improve its infrastructure. These updates have included enhancements to the lighting and energy systems, structural repairs, new furnishings like folding chairs and stage curtains, as well as aesthetic improvements to the lobby and meeting rooms. Moreover, the center has upgraded its technical capabilities with a new sound system, scoreboard, and stage risers, among other advancements. The facility also features ten meeting rooms, offering an additional 9,348 square feet of versatile space, suitable for a range of functions and gatherings.
