About Durand Bernarr

Durand Bernarr is an American singer, songwriter, producer, and DJ born in 1988 in Cleveland, Ohio. Raised in a musical household, with his mother a vocal coach and music teacher and his father an audio engineer who worked with artists like Beyoncé and Whitney Houston, Bernarr built his career independently through YouTube videos, mixtapes, and live performances. His 2010 EP of Erykah Badu covers caught Badu's attention directly, leading to a role as her background vocalist in 2011. He has since collaborated with Anderson .Paak, Kaytranada, and The Internet, and gained wider visibility through a viral 2023 NPR Tiny Desk Concert. After releases including Wanderlust (2022) and the Grammy nominated En Route (2024), Bernarr won his first Grammy Award at the 68th ceremony in 2026 — Best Progressive R&B Album for his third studio album BLOOM, praised for its emotional depth and celebration of friendship and community.
