Malcolm Todd is an American singer-songwriter and producer born on September 15, 2003, in Los Angeles, California. Known for blending indie pop, alternative R&B, and bedroom pop, his music features introspective, emotionally honest lyrics about relationships, self-doubt, and post-adolescent life. He began writing and producing his own music during the COVID-19 pandemic and released his debut EP Demos Before Prom in 2022. His commercial breakthrough came in 2023 when the single "Art House" went viral on TikTok, followed by the success of "Roommates," which accumulated over 15 million streams on Spotify. The viral attention led to a deal with Columbia Records. His self-titled debut album, released in April 2025, entered the Billboard 200 and featured the single "Chest Pain (I Love)," which marked his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. He cites Steve Lacy, Omar Apollo, Dominic Fike, and Rex Orange County as key influences.
