Alan Cavé is a Haitian-American singer, songwriter, and composer born Georges Alan Cavé on February 27, 1966, in New York City, to Haitian parents — his father Syto Cavé is a celebrated Haitian poet, playwright, and art director, and his mother Yanick Jean was a writer. He spent most of his adolescence in Haiti, where he was immersed in the arts and frequently accompanied his father on tours across the Caribbean, France, and North America. His performance debut came when he filled in for an ill actor and sang "La Personne," sparking his decision to pursue music professionally. In 1987 he auditioned for the compas band Zin and became its lead singer, recording over a decade of acclaimed music including hits such as "Opa" before launching a solo career in 2002. Known as the "King of Konpa Love," his solo discography spans over 20 albums and includes the internationally acclaimed "Se Pa Pou Dat." In November 2024 he made history as the first Haitian artist to perform Haitian music at Madison Square Garden.
