A newcomer in the music industry, Paul Russell blends different genre elements of music to create his style. He has also released a number of singles, like Find My Way, Open Road. His debut solo album, Once A Dry Season, was released in March 2019. Between 2020-2022, Paul continued to drop singles and tracks like Ms. Poli Sci under his label, Kings Dream Entertainment.

In August 2023, after teasing his upcoming track months before on TikTok, Paul released the commercially successful Lil Boo Thang. The song is a dance-pop track with rap elements. It is also reminiscent of the 70s funk era thanks to the sample of the 1977 track, Best of My Love by The Emotions. The song went on to debut at number 99 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in September 2023, marking the rapper’s first appearance. It continued to climb up the chart before it peaked at number 14 in January, 2024. In December 2023, he released the remix of the song with electronic music producer Galantis. The song appeared on charts in several other countries like Australia, Belgium, Ireland, Nigeria, and UK.
