About Alerus Center

Alerus Center, located in Grand Forks, North Dakota, is an indoor arena and convention center opened on February 10, 2001. Owned and operated by the city, it serves as the main venue for the University of North Dakota football team, and hosts concerts, sports events, and trade shows. The center can seat 12,283 for football games and up to 21,000 for other events. The convention section includes a 26,000-square-foot ballroom and twelve meeting rooms, catering to conferences, banquets, and smaller concerts. Alerus Center is adjacent to a hotel and waterpark complex and is named after Alerus Financial, which bought the naming rights. The facility was initially referred to as the Aurora Events Center. It eventually opened with an $80 million cost. After several changes in management, Spectra took over in July 2017.
