At one time known as Beach Memorial Park, the Frank Brown Park has seen substantial development leading up to its current state as a diverse facility. Initially, it was overseen by two maintenance workers and featured a pair of baseball fields and a soccer pitch. However, it has now evolved.
The addition of the Philip Griffitts Community Center in 1988 brought in an indoor gymnasium. In the mid-90s, Frank Brown Park’s expansion culminated in the creation of four baseball fields southwards of the complex and five to its north by 1999.
In 2004, the park added a 20-acre festival site, which transformed an area that was originally designated for horse shows. Then, in 2006, the PCB Aquatic Center, billed by an Olympic-sized pool, was set up. Since then, continual adaptation to community needs has happened, such as the Miracle League field in 2009 and playground upgrades in 2017.
Frank Brown Park, despite its infamousness, does host some interesting shows. The venue has a decent, moderate list of events coming up between May 30th to June 2nd. On May 30th, Midnight South and Billy Currington will serenade guests to kick off the park's second quarter.
The excitement continues on May 31st with Russell Dickerson. Then, on June 1st, performances by Billy Currington and Cody Johnson follow simultaneously. On June 2nd, shows by John Morgan and Shane Smith & The Saints will take over.
