You have to admire the sheer audacity of whoever came up with the sobriquet “Field of Jeans” for Levi's Stadium, home to the San Francisco 49ers ever since it opened in 2014. And like everyone’s favorite type of trousers, the stadium strikes just the right balance between pleasing aesthetics and modern practical convenience. The luxury suites are located mostly on one side of the stadium, leaving the other three sides with much better views of the action even from the nosebleeds up top, and visitors with special needs or mobility issues can access the facility with ease (a problem at the previous stadium, Candlestick Park). The venue has also been praised for its sustainability initiatives, including solar panels and a farm on the roof (really). Fans who do attend a game at Levi's Stadium will be watching one of the most storied, and recognizable, of all NFL teams. The 49ers, who take their name from the miners of the California Gold Rush who sought gilded fortunes in the far west of America back in 1849, are five time Super Bowl champions (though their last win came in 1994 at Super Bowl XXIX). Levi's Stadium has already hosted one Super Bowl (Super Bowl X, in 2016), and is slated to host again in 2026 (Super Bowl LX). Diehard 49ers fans will be praying to the football gods that their team will make a hometown Super Bowl appearance. As well as all regular season and playoff 49ers home games, Levi's Stadium plays host to concerts, professional wrestling bouts, outdoor hockey games, and international soccer matches. The venue is scheduled to host several matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Arriving at Levi's Stadium hungry is no problem either, with San Francisco classics like clam chowder and crab sandwiches alongside everything from ahi tuna to babyback ribs. Shoppers looking for team and event merchandise will find plenty at the kiosks and shops throughout the stadium, much of it proudly displaying the colors and famous logo of the 49ers.
Levi's Stadium is a massive venue with a huge range of available seating options for visitors to choose from. As mentioned above, most of the premium seating areas like suites and club seats are located along one side of the stadium and appeal to those looking for a more exclusive game day experience. The other three sides of the venue contain plenty of general admission seating, with seats at both mid-range and cheaper prices to suit every preference and budget. Sit behind the benches, next to an endzone, on the 30-yard line–every seat at Levi's Stadium is a great seat. Check TicketX to find out which tickets are available to games or events at Levi's Stadium and use our handy seating chart to compare different seating options.
Visitors can access Levi's Stadium via public transportation or driving their own vehicle. Note that the stadium is not located in central San Francisco, but rather in Santa Clara, a small city area out past San Jose. Downtown San Francisco is over 30 miles away from the venue.
Several different modes of public transportation will get you to Levi's Stadium, including VTA light rail and buses as well as ACE and Capital Corridor trains. Check the official Levi’s Stadium website for full public transportation details. The 49ers also like to promote cycling to the venue with a secure check-in lockup to keep your bicycle safe during your event or game. Another way to get to the venue is to take a taxi or rideshare.
It is possible to drive your own vehicle to Levi's Stadium, but be prepared for the Bay Area’s legendary traffic jams, particularly if you are using bridges or tunnels. Aim for an early arrival at the venue to avoid disappointment. Levi's Stadium’s official website has helpful maps and driving directions.
Yes, there is plenty of parking around Levi's Stadium. It is highly recommended, however, to book a prepaid parking spot well in advance. Visit Levi's Stadium’s official website for detailed parking maps and instructions.
