In the heart of Chula Vista, California, lies the iconic North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre, a cultural gem that vibrates with the rhythm of music, and serves as a beacon of entertainment excellence.

Formerly known as the Mattress Firm Amphitheatre, Coors Amphitheatre, Sleep Train Amphitheatre, Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre. The Amphitheatre stands as a monumental presence with a capacity of 20,500 seats.

This astounding amphitheatre is currently under the ownership of Live Nation, holding a rich history that mirrors its evolution from open fields and a former diary farm to a bustling hub of entertainment.

From a sprawling dairy farm, it evolved into an industrial park, spreading across 72 acres. However, the industrial park fell into dormancy and the Universal Concerts proposed an ambitious vision for the city of Chula Vista, and this audacious vision led to the transformation of what is now seen as the magnificent amphitheatre.

The late 1990s brought forth a development not only for the amphitheatre but also for a vibrant water park and additional entertainment venues for the area. Coors Amphitheatre opened on July 21, 1998, the first venue of its kind in the area of San Diego. The venue’s grand opening was celebrated on August 21, 1998, with its first sell out concert with the pop girl group Spice Girls making a memorable occasion in entertainment history.

House of Blues acquired Universal Concerts Facilities, including Coors Amphitheater, in late 1999. Live Nation Entertainment bought House of Blues in July 2006.

In April 2008, it became Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre, the Sleep Train Amphitheater in January 2013, and Mattress Firm Amphitheatre in February 2017. Finally, on November 1, 2018, it was renamed North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre through a sponsorship deal.
