Having first opened way back in 1928, the Orpheum Theatre Memphis has been a mainstay of live entertainment in Memphis for nearly a century. The Theatre is part of the Orpheum Theatre Group in the city along with the Halloran Centre for Performing Arts & Education. Housed in a gorgeous historic building that was one of the first in Memphis to be included on the National Register of Historic Places, Orpheum Theatre Memphis includes a massive Wurlitzer pipe organ, a common feature in theatres during the silent film era. The venue is known for hosting touring Broadway musicals and plays, concerts, comedy shows, movie nights, ballet, and educational programs.
