El Coyote is the stage name of José Ángel Ledesma Quintero, a Mexican regional Mexican singer and bandleader born in Sinaloa, Mexico, and raised in Mexicali, Baja California. Known for his powerful voice and dynamic stage presence, Ledesma gained experience as a vocalist in several prominent regional Mexican bands including La Original Banda El Limón de Salvador Lizárraga, Banda La Costeña, and Banda Los Recoditos before launching his solo career. In December 1997, he debuted with his first solo album Aquí Me Quedaré under EMI Latin and shortly thereafter formed El Coyote y su Banda Tierra Santa, a 15-piece ensemble based in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, which became his primary backing group. Signed to Universal Music Latin Entertainment, El Coyote y su Banda Tierra Santa have built a devoted following across Mexico and the United States over more than two decades, releasing numerous albums that blend romantic ballads, rancheras, corridos, and traditional banda elements.
