2 Chainz (born Tauheed Epps, September 12, 1977) is an American rapper, songwriter, and actor from College Park, Georgia. He first gained recognition as one half of the Southern hip hop duo Playaz Circle alongside Earl "Dolla Boy" Conyers, signed to fellow Georgia rapper Ludacris' Disturbing tha Peace label and known for their 2007 single "Duffle Bag Boy" featuring Lil Wayne. After changing his stage name from Tity Boi to 2 Chainz in 2011, he signed a solo deal with Def Jam Recordings in 2012. His debut solo album Based on a T.R.U. Story (2012) debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, fueled by platinum singles "No Lie" featuring Drake and "Birthday Song" featuring Kanye West. His fourth album Pretty Girls Like Trap Music(2017) received widespread critical acclaim and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. A Grammy Award winner for Best Rap Performance as a featured artist on Chance the Rapper's "No Problem" (2017), 2 Chainz has established himself as one of hip hop's most consistent artists and a sought after collaborator across the genre.
