A Native of Andrews (a city in South Carolina, America) he was born on February 7, 1965 and after moving there with his family, Chris Rock grew up in Brooklyn, New York City, with six younger siblings. People of the neighborhood where Rock grew up in Brooklyn were white majority and it was hard for him to become a part of the group. He endured beating by whites at school and also was forced to do verbal chasing by some white students. The moral strength of his great determination must not be underestimated. Finally, it came to a point when he had no other choice but to leave school, and he successfully achieved his GED.

In 1984 Chris Rock first hit the entertainment industry via stand-up comedy. One of Eddie Murphy's performances, which can be described as a stand-up show done during one of the nightclub's club nights in New York, was the place in which he saw and developed an interest in Andrew's talent. And the fact that this was the start of something significant made her career begin to rise. In 1987, in Murphy`n`s film "Beverly Hills Cop II" he was cast for the first time as an actor. In 1988, he was finally portrayed in the movie known as "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka." However, his appeal as an artist has never really ceased.

He is well-recognized as a comedian whose material is on racism, his native culture, social relations, and lovers’ conversations. It is Chris Rock who has managed to become an all-round powerhouse in the entertainment field. He won his place in the history of showbiz when he joined the NBC sketch show Saturday Night Life (SNL) as a cast member. Though he did not stay for long, from 1990 to 1993, he was keeping up with the things he was doing before. Surprisingly, Rock Wars performed 3 times in the SNL shows (1996, 2014, 2020).

1991 was the year for his debut comedy album “Born Suspect” and the year for his appearance in the movie “New Jack City”. Interestingly, he earned an awful lot of praise for the part he donned in the film. After that, he was in John Singleton's Boomerang (1992), independently produced and written by him, and CB4 (1993), which he has written and produced as well among many others.

In 1994, Rock appeared in his debut HBO comedy special titled “Big Ass Jokes,” and in 1996 with his second HBO special “Bring The Pain,” which was a best-seller, featuring him as one of Hollywood's acclaimed and commercial comedians. 

A few years later (1994), he released The Original Kings of Comedy (Netflix release 2003) and later produced other specials such as Selective Outrage (Netflix release 2018), Tambourine (Netflix release 2018), Kill the Messenger (2008), Never Scared (2004), and Bigger & Blacker (1994).

In 1996, Rock was a commentator for Comedy Central's Politically Incorrect during the presidential election of that year. For this role, he earned another Emmy nomination. From 1997 - 2000, HBO aired The Chris Rock Show and even gained critical acclaim for his interviews. Through the talk show, Rock has won a total of 15 nominations and three Emmy Awards.

In the later 2000s, Rock started to work more behind the scenes, like writing and producing films. To mention a few of them, Down to Earth (2001), Pootie Tang (2001), Head of State (2003), The Longest Yard (2005), I Think I Love My Wife (2007), black comedy Death at a Funeral (2010), Amsterdam (2022), and PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie (2023) among many others. 

Over the years, Rock has released several comedy series and documentaries that won some accolades. He also has partnered with prominent comedians and actors within the entertainment industry. 

Chris Rock has been successful thus far in all his endeavors, from filmmaking to television shows and stand-up comedy. To this effect, Rock has received several accolades, including four Primetime Emmy Awards, three Grammy Awards for Best Comedy Album, and a Golden Globe Award Nomination. He ranked number 5 on both Rolling Stone's list of the 50 Best Stand-Up Comics of All Time and Comedy Central's list of the 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time.
