After The Grateful Dead’s Fare The Well concert in 2015, the band said its final farewells to the fans. But even though the group disbanded, the band never really died. Later that same year, some old band members joined other talented musicians to set up a new group. The band is the same Dead and Company that thousands of people have come to love deeply.

The Grateful Dead was formed in 1965 and entertained America for 50 years before eventually rounding up in 2015. The new generation would not have enjoyed renewed Grateful Dead music if not for their reincarnation as another band in 2015.

Bill Kreutzmann, Bob Weir, and Mickey Hart from the defunct Grateful Dead came together to set up Dead and Company. Popular singer and guitarist John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, and Jeff Chimenti also joined to form the band.

Like the former band, Dead and Company is an American rock band popularly known for their tours. The band mostly performs Grateful Dead covers in their live shows, keeping the audience hooked on the retro music. There is still no news of any tours, but the band will have a 24-show concert residency at James Dolan’s Las Vegas Sphere in 2024.
