Dr. Dre, born Andre Romell Young, is a rapper, actor, record executive, and producer. He co-founded Death Row Records and was the president as well. He began his career in 1984 and found fame with the group N.W.A., a gangsta rap group. He was credited with making West Coast G-funk popular. Dr. Dre’s first studio album made him one of the best-selling artists of 1993 and earned him a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance.
