About Florida Atlantic Owls Football

The Florida Atlantic Owls represent Florida Atlantic University in the American Conference and play their home games in Boca Raton. The program is young by college football standards, launching in 2001 under Howard Schnellenberger, the coach who had earlier built Miami into a national champion. FAU rose quickly, claiming two Conference USA titles under Lane Kiffin in 2017 and 2019. Zach Kittley, hired in 2025 as the youngest head coach in the FBS, installed an air raid system that produced the nation's top passing offense in his first season. Entering year two, he brings back quarterback Caden Veltkamp and opens the 2026 season on September 5 at Florida.
