Quiet Riot is a heavy metal band that guitarist Randy Rhoads and bassist Kelly Garni brought together in 1973 in Los Angeles. Their original lineup also features lead vocalist Kevin DuBrow and drummer Drew Forsyth. That version of the band spawned dramatics when Garni was fired due to death threats he made against DuBrow. The band’s lineup changed and in 1983, they released their breakthrough album—the first heavy metal album to take the top of the Billboard charts. Quiet Riot has been ranked number 100 on the 100 Greatest Artists of Rock on VH1. More turmoil hit the group when DuBrow died from a cocaine overdose in 2007. The group, with no original members left, reformed in 2010 and moved forward with touring and recording.
