Loathe are an English heavy metal band from Liverpool, formed in 2014, consisting of lead vocalist Kadeem France, guitarist and second vocalist Erik Bickerstaffe, drummer Sean Radcliffe, and bassist Feisal El-Khazragi. The band traces its origins to the Liverpool melodic metalcore band Our Imbalance, in which Bickerstaffe was a founding member. Known for their conceptual approach to albums and a dynamic sound blending metalcore and nu metal with experimental elements of shoegaze, progressive metal, and industrial music, they are signed to SharpTone Records — whose inaugural release was the reissue of Loathe's debut EP Prepare Consume Proceed in 2016. Their debut album The Cold Sun followed in 2017, with a narrative set in a violent post-apocalyptic world. Their critically acclaimed second album I Let It In and It Took Everything was released on February 7, 2020, and their entirely ambient third album The Things They Believe followed exactly one year later on February 7, 2021. In a 2020 Revolver magazine poll they were voted the third most likely contemporary band to break through into the mainstream, and in 2018 they received nominations for the Heavy Music Awards Best UK Breakthrough Band and Metal Hammer Golden Gods Best New Band. Their fourth album A Stranger to You is set for release on July 17, 2026, through SharpTone Records.
