When the Chaifetz Arena was inaugurated in April 2008, it marked a new era for the athletic endeavors of Saint Louis University, its host grounds. Named in regard to Dr. Richard A. Chaifetz, the facility hosts men’s basketball, women’s basketball and unisex volleyball contests.

The complex comprises Chaifetz Pavilion, practice facilities, an academic center, and administrative offices. Amenities feature a shop, Hall of Fame Walkway, and concessions. With a capacity of 10,600, the arena boasts clear sightlines, scoreboards, and LED displays.

Event-focused facilities include Lorenzini's Club, private suites, and party rooms. Under the management of Spectra, the arena, encompassing 269,300 square feet of space, accommodates various events: concerts, trade shows, and university ceremonies.

Upcoming events at Chaifetz Arena

If you are thinking of grooving at the Chaifetz Arena, there is always something put on show. The remaining parts of the year start with the Zac Brown Band, followed by laughs with the We Them Ones Comedy Tour on April 12th.

Then, on April 25th, Chris Tomlin comes on stage to offer two spiritual experiences. Greta Van Fleet will make a stop for the Starcatcher World Tour on April 27th, followed by R&B vibes from Tamia & Joe on May 4th.

The Postal Service & Death Cab For Cutie hit the stage on May 7th, and NF brings the HOPE TOUR in hip-hop style on May 12th. Ladies R&B Kickback on June 8th will be followed by two days of rocking tunes with Phish on July 30th and 31st.

August comes with the Queens of R&B, Xscape & SWV, on the 13th, while Koe Wetzel wraps things up for the arena’s year with country charm on September 18th.

How to get to Chaifetz Arena

At the intersection of Compton Avenue and Market Street, the venue is accessible by car, bus, or train. Situated on the Saint Louis University campus, it's within walking distance from several parking lots and public stops.

From I-64, take exit 38A for Grand Boulevard and head south. For public transit, the Grand MetroLink station is nearby, offering access via the Red and Blue lines. Several MetroBus routes also serve the area.

If you are driving, the venue has on-site as well as nearby lots, with costs ranging from $10 to $20. On-site options include Olive/Compton and Laclede Garages.
