XG is a seven-member group formed by Xgalx, a subsidiary of Avex, made up of Japanese members who trained for five years in South Korea before debuting in March 2022 with Tippy Toes. Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Harvey, Juria, Maya and Cocona record exclusively in English and work in hip-hop and R&B rather than conventional J-pop, an approach that has made them one of the most internationally visible Japanese acts of their generation. They became the first Japanese artist to appear on the cover of Billboard, and in 2025 headlined the Sahara stage at Coachella as the only Japanese act on the lineup.
