About Story of the Year
Story of the Year is an American post-hardcore band formed in St. Louis, Missouri in 1995, originally under the name 67 North before becoming Big Blue Monkey and eventually Story of the Year in 2002. The band consists of vocalist Dan Marsala, guitarists Ryan Phillips and Philip Sneed, bassist Adam Russell, and drummer Josh Wills. Signed to Maverick Records, their debut album Page Avenue (2003) was a commercial breakthrough, achieving Gold certification from the RIAA and producing the hit singles Until the Day I Die and Anthem of Our Dying Day, the latter featuring a music video directed by Joe Hahn of Linkin Park. Subsequent albums include In the Wake of Determination (2005), The Black Swan(2008) on Epitaph Records, and most recently Tear Me to Pieces (2023).
