Brent Faiyaz

Brent Faiyaz began his career like so many young artists of the current generation: uploading his own music onto the internet and hoping someone would enjoy it. By 2015 (at just 20 years of age), Faiyaz had already released his first single and his first album (A.M. Paradox) would follow in the very next year. The ensuing years would bring collaborations with great artists like Drake and Tyler the Creator, leading Faiyaz into even greater mainstream success. In terms of style, Faiyaz has opined that he gets categorized as an R&B artist primarily because he is black and has a “soulful voice” despite not really believing that his music fits so squarely into any particular genre. While rap and R&B definitely exert a strong influence on his music, Faiyaz focuses much of his songwriting on personal life experience, feeling that the lyrics are at least as important as the music itself.
