Paramore

The founding members of Paramore met as teenagers in a small town in Tennessee, perhaps not the most obvious of birthplaces for one of recent times’ biggest emo punk bands. Lead singer Hayley Williams was originally pushed towards becoming a more conventional pop artist, but persisted in making the kind of music that she and the rest of the band were actually into: a blend of emo, punk, and alternative rock. The band has continued to record and tour ever since, garnering legions of devoted fans. If you like your music dark but still somehow uplifting, go and see one of Paramore’s live concerts.
