The South Alabama Jaguars football team is a fairly new college football team, with the University of South Alabama establishing its Division I football program in 2007 and the team kicking off fully in 2013. With their new home, gorgeous Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Alabama, opened in 2020, the Jaguars have improved on the field in recent seasons and are starting to make a name for themselves within the Sun Belt Conference, particularly in 2022, when the team finished 10-3. The Jaguars even managed their first Bowl victory in the 2023 68 Ventures Bowl over the Eastern Michigan Eagles, blowing out their opponents by a score of 59-10. Under new head coach Major Applewhite for the upcoming 2024 season, the Jaguars will be looking forward to what hopefully will be their best season yet.
