Home Teams: New Orleans Saints (NFL)
In 2005, the Louisiana Superdome (now the Caesars Superdome) appeared on television screens nationwide and around the world not as a football stadium, but as an emergency evacuation center where so many residents of New Orleans sought refuge when they had nowhere else to go after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. The stadium itself took a battering in the storm, forcing the New Orleans Saints to play their home games in San Antonio. Remarkably, the Superdome was rebuilt and refurbished by the following year in time for the 2006 season, a symbol of the city’s rejuvenation after so much tragedy and loss. Even better, the Saints went from strength to strength after returning to New Orleans, improving so much as a team that they made it to Super Bowl XLIV in 2009! Up against the favored Indianapolis Colts, the Saints prevailed 31-17, bringing the whole city of New Orleans out into the streets to celebrate. Not that Saints fans need an excuse to party, as there is nothing locals love more than to gather together many hours before kickoff to eat, drink, and socialize with some tailgating. Visitors will find the variety of food on the menu at Caesars Superdome very interesting indeed, with ballpark classics like ribs, burgers, and popcorn alongside special local dishes such as alligator jambalaya, burnt ends brisket sandwiches, and cajun chicken. Little Caesars pizza is available too, of course. Many kiosks and shops around and in the stadium sell team and event merchandise.
The Superdome has witnessed seven Super Bowls, with one more to come in 2025 when New Orleans hosts Super Bowl LIX. All regular season and playoff New Orleans Saints home games take place at the Caesars Superdome, as well as major NCAA college football and basketball games, international soccer matches, and even MLB baseball games. Concerts featuring the likes of superstar artists on tour such as Beyonce, Missy Elliott, Janet Jackson, Megan Thee Stallion, Garth Brooks, and many more are often held at Caesars Superdome. Here is a list of concerts and other special events scheduled for Caesars Superdome in 2024:
・May 31 - Zach Bryan
・Oct 25 - Taylor Swift
・Oct 26 - Taylor Swift
・Oct 27 - Taylor Swift
