About Folsom Field

Originally called Colorado Stadium, and later changed to Folsom Field, to honor the renowned University of Colorado coach, Fredrick Folsom, after he died in 1944. Fredrick Folsom served as the coach of the Colorado team three times for fifteen years between 1895 and 1915.

Folsom Field is an outdoor football field, the home of the Colorado Buffaloes. Upon its inception in 1924, the venue had a capacity of 26,000. Several renovations, constructions, and expansions were made through the years which led to its current state.

Its most recent design was completed in 2016 to include stadium suites, touch-down club seats, and a touch club road. A rooftop terrace was also built. Apart from being a football field, the venue has played host to concerts of artists and bands like The Rolling Stones in 1978 and 1981 and Dead and Company. Folsom Field is an ideal setting to host events, reunions, formal gatherings, and more.

Upcoming Shows at Folsom Field

The unparalleled view at Folsom Field makes it an ideal setting for diverse events in Boulder. Several captivating events, shows, and football matches are lined up to take place at the venue this year.

Black Gold Spring Game will come up on the 26th of April; Black Gold Day will be held the next day, the 27th of April. Plans for Spring 2024 will commence on 9th May.

On May 27th, Bolderboulder 10K will take place at the venue. Odesza will hold a concert on 29th June and 29th July. Tyler Childers with Shakey Graves will also host an event at the venue on 17th August.

Football matches and tournaments are set to be played live at the stadium; the first is between Colorado Buffaloes and North Dakota State Bison, which will take place on the 30th and 31st of August. The next match is on the 11th of October between Colorado Buffaloes and Kansas State Wildcats.

Q BBQ Fest Boulder will take place on the 20th and 21st of October. Other matches to take place at the venue are:
