Ford Field Events

Ford Field, home to the Detroit Lions since 2002, was constructed with an interesting nod to the Motor City’s past as a trade and manufacturing hub. The design of the stadium itself incorporates a former Hudson’s warehouse that was constructed way back in the 1920s and the ceiling’s frosted windows pay tribute to the automobile factories that have long been synonymous with the city of Detroit. Ford Field is a closed dome stadium; there were discussions at one point about installing a retractable roof, but these plans were shelved before they got off the drawing board. Along with all regular season and playoff Lions home games, Ford Field has also hosted high school and college football games, concerts, motorsports, and international soccer matches. Anyone who shows up to the stadium hungry these days will find a wide selection of tasty snacks at Ford Field, from pulled pork nachos and egg rolls to hibachi grills and Great Lakes Burgers. Kiosks and shops can be found all around the stadium where you can purchase team and event merchandise.

Ford Field Seating Chart

The Ford Field provides its guests with some interesting seating options due to its somewhat unconventional architecture. Because the south side of the stadium incorporates the old warehouse, most of the premium seating (suites and lounges) is located on this side, with grandstand seating lining the two end zones and the north side of the stadium. This general seating area contains a wide selection of mid-range and cheaper seats to suit all preferences and budgets. Visit TicketX to check which tickets are available to games or events at the Ford Field and make use of our seating chart to compare seating options.

Yes, there is good on-site parking at Ford Field in the many parking lots surrounding the stadium, though off-site parking can be cheaper. Visit Ford Field’s official website for parking maps and details or to book prepaid parking at the venue.

How much does Ford Field parking cost?

Parking close to Ford Field usually costs between $30-70, but you can often find cheaper parking rates in off-site parking lots (as low as $5). These can often be quite far from the stadium, however, although some do have shuttles that run from the parking lot to Ford Field.
